Students & Faculty Together: “Feed My Starving Children” event Nov 11th-12th

Feed My Starving Children is a food packaging event where students, faculty, and members of the community will put together 200,000 meals for malnourished children in Third World countries. Faculty Commons will be partnering with Campus Crusade (SLO Crusade) and other campus groups November 11th-12th to help feed the hungry.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

– plan on volunteering. There will be ten packaging shifts Friday & Saturday November 11th-12th. each lasting just 1 ½ hours each. You can choose one of the ten different times that works with your schedule. This is a great event for your spouse and kids (ages 7+) to be involved with, too! To sign up for a shift, click here.

– invite your students to join you. Students appreciate being asked, and working side by side with their professors in an event like this.

– invite other professors to consider participating. This is an great opportunity to engage colleagues in a meaningful, hands-on campus-wide sevice event.

WHERE: Mountainbrook Community Church. 1775 Calle Joaquin. San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: Here’s a three minute video describing the event –

To volunteer for a 1 ½ hour shift November 11th or 12th, click here.

To donate click here. By choosing to give up $15 (equal to fasting from two meals) you could fully cover the cost of the food you will package. The $15 you give up will feed a child for over a month. By simply fasting from two meals you will provide a child with nearly 63 meals.
