Many thanks so everyone that joined us that past Monday evening for the Cal Poly Veritas Forum.

The feedback from last year’s Forum was so positive that students decided to invite back speakers Dr. Sean McDowell (Apologetics, Biola University, and representing a Christian perspective) and Dr. Paul Rinzler (Cal Poly Emeritus Faculty, board member of Atheists United SLO, and representing a secular perspective).
This year’s Forum focused on the the problem of evil, often considered the most common argument against Christianity. That is, “if God is good, why is there pain and suffering in the world?”

800 students, faculty, and invited guests packed out Cal Poly’s Chumash Auditorium.
Here’s a short video clip we grabbed with an iPhone, just to give a taste of the Forum and interaction between Sean McDowell and Paul Rinzler.
Afterwards, students circled around both our speakers, asking follow up questions.

Below, a handful of Christian students interacting with Dr Rinzler. The constant comment was, despite different belief systems, how civil the dialogue and back and forth was.

We’ll pass along the link to this event once the entire Forum is available for viewing online.
Many thanks to the Cal Poly Veritas planning team, and to our two speakers, and student moderator. And we welcome faculty input on future topics or speakers.
